The Deskside Support Technician is responsible for working in coordination with the regional service desk to resolve user problems and to perform planned activities (installations, moves, adds and changes) that can not be performed remotely by the service desk agents or involved IT support staff.
  Primary Responsibilities
  • Daily client support activities as assigned by the regional service desk & Client Coordinator.
  • IT hardware installation – this includes (but is not limited to) approved desktops, laptops, monitors, PDA’s, USB devices, etc.
  • Moving end-user IT equipment – this includes (but is not limited to) PC’s, printers, phones, etc.
  • IT hardware maintenance – this includes (but is not limited to) memory upgrades, hard drive replacements, printer maintenance, etc. 
  • May include additional server or network support activities as needed. 
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft client operating systems
  • Ability to work with a variety of IT hardware devices (PC’s, printers, PDA’s, phones, etc.)
  • Must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to communicate with users at all levels, from C-level to shop floor.
