As a member of a project team, a Business Systems Analyst will collaborate with business customers on the analysis of business needs to deliver functional requirements and other project artifacts to the project team.  The BSA will play a role in defining system functionality and leveraging technology to address business strategies and resolve operational needs. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with business customers to identify, model, and then document their requirements and business domain details, using tools such as use cases and process flow diagrams
  • Work with technical staff to determine and document technical/non-functional requirements
Basic Qualifications   
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experiences in the IT or P&C Insurance industries.
    • Equivalent IT experience includes a minimum of 5 years in software development, quality assurance or IT project management. 
    • Equivalent insurance experience includes a minimum of 5 years experience working in an underwriting, financial reporting/accounting or claims department. 
  • Two to four years of work related experience as IT systems or business analyst
  • Agile project experience
  • Attention to detail, strong listening skills, and good verbal and written communications are required
  • Knowledge of building system solutions or business web applications
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Commercial Lines and/or Personal Lines
  • Experience with policy management systems
  • Ability to detail requirements in a story card format
  • Mainframe experience desired
  • Skilled with Rally (CA Agile Central) or equivalent requirements tool
  • Good understanding of the full SDLC, including all iterative development, test, and delivery phases.
  • Experience assisting with production support issues
