As a member of a project team, a Sr. Business Systems Analyst will collaborate with business customers on the analysis of business needs to deliver functional requirements and other project artifacts to the project team.  The Sr. BSA will play a role in defining system functionality and leveraging technology to address business strategies and resolve operational needs. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with business customers to identify, model, and then document their requirements and business domain details, using tools such as use cases and process flow diagrams
  • Work with technical staff to determine and document technical/non-functional requirements
Basic Qualifications   
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experiences in IT or insurance.
    • Equivalent IT experience includes a minimum of 5 years in software development, quality assurance or IT project management. 
    • Equivalent insurance experience includes a minimum of 5 years experience working in an underwriting, financial reporting/accounting or claims department.
  • Five years of work related experience as an IT systems or business analyst including work as a lead BSA on two large (minimum 10,000 hours) software development projects
  • P&C Insurance industry knowledge
  • Agile project experience
  • Attention to detail, strong listening skills, and good verbal and written communications are required
  • Knowledge of building system solutions or business web applications
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Team leadership experience
  • Coaching and mentoring other Business Systems Analysts
  • Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter
  • Working knowledge of Commercial Lines and/or Personal Lines
  • Experience with policy management systems
  • Ability to detail requirements in a story card format
  • Skilled with Rally or equivalent requirements tool
  • Experience with the full SDLC, including the end-to-end test cycle and iterative development and delivery.
