The Desktop Analyst is responsible for the ongoing design, maintenance, and third level support of the company's desktop operating system and extended applications.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide direct support of business applications.
  • Develop new software updates via System Center Client Management including the creation of objects, testing of deployment and follow-up support.  Research upgrades as needed.
  • Test all software upgrades to Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and all other third-party applications prior to deployment.  Research to enhance current software including patches, updates, and service packs.
  • Responsible for ongoing administration and troubleshooting of the anti-virus platform.
  • Provide third level support to Help Desk personnel as well as all support in all offices.  This includes advanced troubleshooting, phone support of Desktop OS and Extended Applications. 
  • Responsible for installation and maintenance of Extended applications.  Coordinate support efforts between 1st and 2nd level support, product vendors, trainers, and users.
  • Ongoing testing of new applications prior to rollout.
  • Promote the use of defined desktop standards; recommend changes based on user needs.
  • Evaluate, test and recommend new desktop hardware specifications including PC’s, laptops and printers.
  • Participate in special projects. Prepare business cases based on system/company needs; identify goals and objectives; determine technical architecture; manage construction of project and rollout.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in developing desktop imaging, network administration and/or third level support.
  • Prior experience with System Center Client Management (SCCM) and the related Configuration Manager Server is required.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems including registry modifications and group policy objects.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and navigate change in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
