Our client is looking for an accountable Network Manager to lead and coordinate network and telecommunications (also including Unified Communications) systems, services, staff, and activities.
The ideal candidate proactively learns and quickly applies technology in a beneficial way, requires little supervision or follow up, is responsive, collaborative and respectful to all, thinks strategically, and develops a high performing team that is aligned to the Company philosophy.
  • Deployment of high-quality, secure systems to production environments (at or under department standards for quality/defects, availability, performance, security)
  • Timely delivery of work products based on commitment dates and/or service level agreements
  • Application of existing and emerging technologies (innovation) in an effective, efficient, timely, and beneficial manner to the organization
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide day-to-day management of direct reports (network and telecommunication team); perform work in a timely & quality manner
  • Continually improve team culture in alignment with the Company Philosophy; actively mentor, coach, and develop direct reports to meet company goals (short and long term)
  • Accurately plan and track work resource forecasts for direct reports, estimates of work, financial forecasts for assigned cost center(s); accurately manage licensing, subscriptions, and contracts
  • Perform technology planning, strategy, roadmap activities, and accurate up-to-date system capacity planning
  • Ensure the system performs in an optimal fashion that meets or exceeds business requirements -- meet or exceed availability, performance, security, and other key department/company goals & metrics; participate in support calls as needed to resolve system issues in a 365x24x7 environment, troubleshoot and resolve system issues as needed
  • Professionally work with external vendors to plan and perform required work
  • Understand business processes, goals, drivers, and priorities in order to document requirements and appropriately meet them as needed; educate and provide concise articulation of business value related to any work to IT and/or Business senior management
  • Perform in a continuous improvement mode (constantly look for ways to operate more efficiently and effectively; and apply change); automates tasks, procedures/processes as needed; remain current on new or emerging tools and solutions that could benefit our business systems
  • Review, provide feedback, and complete system & solution documentation (architecture/design, run books, etc.) as needed
  • Maintain and adhere to department principles, processes, standards, conventions, and industry best practices when performing work
  • Other duties as assigned
Critical Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience working with a distributed network covering at least 20-60 locations; global distribution is highly desired
  • Strong working knowledge of the Open System Interconnect (OSI) model and related technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of secure WAN & LAN best practices for both wired and wireless environments
  • Strong working knowledge of networking equipment (switches, routers, WAPs, hubs, etc.) and related networking and telecommunication tools; Cisco experience is highly desired
  • Strong working knowledge of unified communications (voice, video, conferencing, chat, screen share, etc.), related protocols (VOIP, SIP, etc.), system architecture, tools, and integration points; Cisco experience is highly desired
  • Solid working knowledge of network and telecommunication best practices for high-availability, performance, security, and wiring practices (small to large sites)
  • Solid knowledge of telecommunication vendors, services, and billing practices (global is desired)
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply technology is required; understanding of best practices for infrastructure as code/SDN, Agile/DevOps, mobile, big data, IoT, VDI, cloud services is desired
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exemplary service delivery; working knowledge of ITIL processes and US regulations (SOX, etc.); knowledge of global regulations (GDRP, etc.) is highly desired
  • Ability to travel as needed (approx. 25%)
Education/Training Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Additional licensing or certifications is a plus (especially in the field of network, telecommunication, and security)
