The Tax Manager will be an integral part of the tax group and will be responsible for reviewing work papers and tax analyses to support income tax returns, quarterly estimates and income tax accounting calculations for the company. This includes, but is not limited to the review of current and deferred taxes, reviewing tax forecasts, technical tax research and the review of federal and state tax returns, tax estimates and domestic/international tax provisions. In addition, staff development and mentoring will be an essential component of this role.  The Tax Manager will work with internal finance and business personnel, outside service providers and other members of the tax group on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review of quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, and all related disclosure items
  • Review of corporate and partnership federal and state tax returns and estimates, as well as review of underlying calculations necessary to support federal, state and local tax return filings and estimated tax payment calculations
  • Involvement in tax audits and inquiries at the federal, state and local levels
  • Management and development of tax analysts and tax senior analysts
  • Manage communications and coordination with outside tax advisors
  • Research and document technical tax and tax accounting issues
Essential Job Knowledge and Competencies:
  • BSBA in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 6 to 9 years of relevant experience –  partnership tax experience a plus
  • Prior Big 4 or regional public accounting experience a plus
  • Knowledge of federal, and state and local tax laws
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740 principles
  • Familiarity with Onesource Tax Provision (formerly Taxstream) a plus
  • International experience a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Support and participation in strategic tax planning projects
Preferred Professional Certifications and/or Affiliations:
Certified Public Accountant and/or Masters in Taxation preferred
